In simplest terms, the label Hollow Form describes a vessel which, after its outer form is turned to a pleasing shape, is painstakingly hollowed-out to create a thin-walled vessel. In my Hollow Forms, the vessel’s form determines, to a great degree, just what wall thickness should be. As a rule, my Hollow Forms range from 1/4" to 3/8” thick. For greater vessel stability, I prefer leaving the wall somewhat thicker as it nears the base. There are so many variables in wood that it is almost impossible to turn exact duplicates.
We usually have a number of Hollow Forms available in our gallery. For more information about Hollow Form vessels you can E-mail me at webmaster@harrywicks.com or, harrywix@yahoo.com. Should you prefer to visit our studio-gallery, please call or email and we will provide directions for getting here and date confirmation---so I am certain to be here on the day you would like to visit.
